Valentine's Day week

We had a fun filled week to celebrate Valentine's Day. Bryton had been so excited about the upcoming holiday and saying, "This is going to be the BEST Valentine's Day ever!" I didn't have anything spectacular planned, but we all seemed to have a fun day nonetheless. We made heart crayons to pass out to his friends at school and cookies to take to our neighbors. As a special surprise, when the boys woke up on Valentine's morning we piled in the car and went and got donuts in our pjs. Scott was sad he had to miss out on that treat! We had a great morning of playtime at the park and then came home to play with friends at home. Scott came home with chocolate dipped strawberries for all of us to share for desert, but first we went to Five Guys for dinner! A favorite among all the boys :)

Cohen loves to play ball!
fun at the park...it was SO sunny and windy!
sweet brothers....at that moment :)

Saturday we went to a birthday party at the bouncy house place. The boys had a blast...all three of them!

the dads always find entertainment at the parties!
We got a new game for family game night. Playing Twister with Bryton is hilarious! His legs aren't long enough to stretch, but he sure tries!

Hockey

The city has a free 8 week hockey program for kids. Bryton started back in January and is doing great! He started off by using a bucket to learn to skate, but is now skating on his own and actually learning a few hockey skills. He plays 2 days a week and loves it. We are still undecided if he is going to continue after the 8 weeks, but for now he is loving it!

TWO!

It is hard to believe but C is two! He isn't into craziness and big tadoos (is that a word) so we opted out of having a party for him this year. Instead we did a few family things that we knew he would enjoy. After church, we headed to the Black Bear diner to have brunch....chocolate chip pancakes for the boys! There is a little shopping area that has a train that we thought was perfect for such a special day. The weather was great and since we were celebrating a birthday, we got an extra lap around the track :) Cohen loved the ride, even though the family picture doesn't show it! After a little nap, we played outside and then grilled out burgers with the neighbors who we play with nearly everyday. We enjoyed some cake and sang him his birthday song (which he wasn't too terribly crazy about!).
We had such a great day celebrating such a special little boy!

The last two years have been full of ups and downs for C. We are so blessed that he is doing SO well. There have been times when we have been a bit unsure of things, but he has continued to prove us wrong. He is a fighter who likes to do things in his own time. Each day is a new day! We are so proud of the progress that he continues to make and are so excited to see what surprises he has in store for us! In the last year, we have gotten great news from doctors. He has been released from physical therapy and is as active as any normal two year old. We are continuing speech therapy and seeing progress every single session. It is SO encouraging! Cohen is such a blessing to us and we love him more than any words could ever describe. Happy 2nd Birthday C! We love you buddy and you make us SO proud!
