January part 2

Scott and Bryton went to Monster Jam last week.  This was one of those things on Scott's list that he couldn't wait to take his boys to....I hope it lived up to all of his expectations :)
Cohen is all about doing some crafting like his brother, except he is a lot messier!
Cohen was doing speech the other day when she was reading a story to him. He wouldn't let her continue until he has fixed all of these animals and covered them up with his blanket. It was a 10 minute ordeal to get them exactly like he wanted them!
Crazy hair day at school!
It was pajama day at school and Bryton wanted to take a picture with Cohen before we left. This is Cohen's new smile, squinted eyes everytime :)
Caught in the pantry....this boy is trouble!

January

I have been horrible about taking pictures this month! I carry my camera everywhere, but just haven't been using it. Here are some of the highlights of our month....the biggest being a visit from Honey and Poppy!
Scott and I went on a rock climbing adventure date! So much fun!
We celebrated Honey's 60th birthday the day they arrived in CA. We filled their week with lots of running around town with preschool and appointments, a trip to the Railroad Museum, IKEA, Sonoma, Napa, and even a date night to a fun new restaurant. We hope they enjoyed their week as much as we enjoyed having them here with us!
Honey took on the task of teaching Bryton to skip. Cohen was right in the middle of the fun!
Cohen is in a nesting phase. He likes to cuddle up with blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals any chance he gets!
We spent a beautiful day in downtown Sonoma.
The boys weren't too thrilled with taking pictures, but at least we tried :)

Happy 60th Honey! We hope you enjoyed your CA adventure and trip on the wine train!

Snow Tubing

We have been wanting to get back up to Tahoe to go skiing, but just haven't found the time. We settled on a day of snow tubing a few days after Christmas. Honestly, our day got off to a rocky start but when I look back on it I am so glad we went! Cohen didn't get to tube, so he spent the day standing in line with us holding a spot for Bryton. He played in the snow the whole time. The kids loved it and they got to see snow, which isn't going to happen here at home. Maybe next year we can go skiing...
Check out his tongue! He must have been concentrating not to fall down :)
Daddy and his boys
 Stopping for a lunch break!

Waiting to head down the hill!

Christmas Eve 2012

It's Christmas EVE! Bryton never thought the day would arrive! It was so much fun to watch the boys throughout the season of Christmas this year, especially Bryton. Cohen still wasn't sure about it all and actually really didn't like all of the activity. Bryton on the other hand, loved it!

We got to glue on the last piece of Santa's beard! Finally!
Time to make our cookies for Santa!
Cohen would ice, sprinkle and take a bite....not leaving much for Santa :)
I think we went through 4 containers of sprinkles on a dozen cookies!
We got all cleaned up for Christmas Eve Service at church...my absolute favorite!
Bryton wanted to play photographer  :)
Then he also thought we needed a family portrait....so we went along with it!
We left food for the reindeer!
And of course cookies and milk for Santa.....I think Cohen was done, what do you think?!?

A laid back weekend (during the holidays!)

Over the holidays we tried not to over schedule and really enjoy the little moments. We actually had a few weekends where we didn't have parties and craziness and it was SO nice! One Saturday morning, we joined some friends at the Sacramento National Cemetery to lay wreaths on the graves of fallen soldiers. It was a very cold morning (relatively speaking here in CA) and the ceremony was very long, so the children didn't last too long. We enjoyed getting to be a part of such a special day.

the downfall of having 2 iPads in the house is these two will sneak away to play....
We had a family afternoon of making a gingerbread train! So much fun!

One of the other holiday favorites was going to the Live Nativity productions put on by one of the local churches. It was amazing! The boys had such a great time! The camel was definitely a favorite!
