birthday party

Bryton has asked for jumpy house birthday party for the last 3 years. Since we are moving this summer, we decided this was the year to do it with all of his friends. We invited all of his class and various other friends and had a great birthday celebration. There were 17 kiddos and parents that came to enjoy the fun afternoon. It definitely was one of the easiest birthday parties we have ever done and everyone went home ready for a nap!

SEVEN

SEVEN! It blows my mind this little man is seven years old. He reminded me on his birthday that it is only 3 more years until he is 10....whoooaaa there buddy lets not get ahead of ourselves! I am so thankful for his kind heart and creative nature. He has an imagination you wouldn't believe. Riding his bike is his second favorite thing to do after climbing the monkey bars at the park. He has become a great reader and loves school. I am so excited to see what God has in store for him in the coming years!

B's birthday fell over spring break this year so he had the whole day to choose how we spent it. We spent the morning in our pajamas and had cinnamon rolls for breakfast. He got to pick our lunch destination and he thought Boudin Bakery was the best spot. No arguments from me!
We spent the majority of the afternoon at the park climbing the monkey bars! Skipping bars is the newest trick.

After Dad got home from work, he opened gifts. Craft supplies, Legos, books, and summer clothes! We went out for dinner at Murrillos for cheese enchiladas.

Easter in no particular order

We dyed Easter eggs the night before Easter. This year we did them a little bit differently though. We always do eggs and then I feel so wasteful because we don't eat boiled eggs. This year I found paper mache' dyeable eggs! Brilliant! They worked perfectly and I can save them for decorations for next year! They were the same price as a dozen eggs and they came in a real egg carton. Why didn't I think of that?!

 Crazy boys!

Scott gave up Diet Coke for Lent again. Though this year, his first sip on Easter Sunday didn't taste as good as he remembered. Hmmm....maybe the habit has been broken!

Nothing like a good ole family photo at the squadron Easter Party :)

Random thoughts

Its a big deal! Cohen writes his name now. He gets his C backwards from time to time, but he loves to write it and then surprise me with it. He is getting more and more excited for learning and I couldn't be more proud!
My sidekick...oh how I love this boy!

 Another tooth down at school!
Cohen was sporting his bunny ear when I picked him up from his Easter party at school. He said I needed to take his picture to send to Daddy :)

Cohen loved taking pictures with the bunny this year! He ran up to him asking me to take his picture. So strange :)

Santa Cruz

The day following the big auction we took a day trip to Santa Cruz. It has a been a place that we have been wanting to visit. Scott's parents were still visiting so we thought it was a great time to go. Bryton loved riding the rides on the boardwalk and Cohen absolutely loved the beach. No matter what the temperature, the boys always end up swimming in the waves. Cohen looked especially redneck this time as his pants stretched out so much they fell off and he was swimming in his underwear :) Making memories is so much fun!

School Auction

Bryton's school's auction was the same weekend of our OSC auction. We didn't attend the school one this year, but I did help Bryton's teacher get together our class project and basket. I loved how our project turned out! It was super simple to put together but turned out so cool. Each child painted a few wooden pieces that were different shapes. We mounted them on a piece of colored mat board and framed it. So fun to see how all the different personalities of each of the students could be seen on such small pieces. Our class basket was a step up to reading basket with lots of Step readers, games, puzzles, and BOB books.

auction 2015

In March, I was a part of a team that helped host the annual Travis Officer Spouses' Club Charity Auction. The theme for the event was "An Evening in Black and White" and it was a hit! We had so much fun and it was a huge success! We doubled the amount of money we raised for our organization from the previous year, this year totaling over $40,000. It is so exciting to be a part of something that will benefit so many different individuals and organizations here at Travis.

Vegas

Scott and I left the boys with Scott's parents and headed to Las Vegas for the weekend the first weekend of March. We met two couples whom we haven't seen in years, possibly since our wedding! It was so much fun to all be together again. We ate, shopped, played the slots, went to see Rascal Flats at the Hard Rock Hotel, and of course the NASCAR race! It was a great weekend and I believe round 2 is already in the works :)

this is true love....just sayin' :)

few more San Diego

 more zoo fun

after an afternoon on the beach
we sat on the rooftop to eat dinner and watch the sunsets....so pretty!
 Lego boats
We took the scenic drive back to the airport
There was a ship that had washed ashore outside the hotel...the boys were so curious!

San Diego

We did a 3 day fun filled trip to San Diego over the winter break week off in February. We hit Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and LEGOLAND as well as hours on the beach. We could have spent a few more days there, but of course work was calling Scott home. The Navy Lodge at Coronado was absolutely fabulous and I wish we could have made the trip sooner. It was the perfect set up for us and the boys loved it. Honestly they would have been happy just going to San Diego for the beach!
We left Sacramento and arrived in San Diego before Sea World even opened. We had the whole day to spend there before going to our hotel.
Our first night on the beach, the water was freezing! We never dreamed they would actually swim!

Glad we brought the swim suits!
I sat and was the observer :)

 Zoo Day!
