the last few weeks

The last two weeks haven't been anything too crazy. Scott has been gone, so the boys and I have been keeping busy. All three of us had colds last weekend so we laid low and had a few pajama days.  We are into our "school year" routine with pre-school, therapy, playgroup, gymnastics, etc. Soccer starts this weekend! I am excited for fall and all the activities to go with it. Bring on the crafts and fun festivals!

Pajama days spent building towns

Afternoons in the backyard washing the toys

We made owls out of paper plates.

Cohen is in a playgroup called "Watch Me Grow". We meet once a week for an hour and a half. It is led by an infant development specialist and an aide that encourage baby signs, lots of communication, and independence. The session runs like a mini pre-school day with circle time, free play, craft time, songs, stories, snacks and then a fun activity (gross motor, fine motor, sensory, etc.). This was our last meeting for this session and so the kids got to decorate cookies as a special treat. Cohen loves getting to go play with his new friends. I think I get as much out of the group as Cohen does from interacting with the other Moms and the teachers. Cohen has made so much progress and we are excited to get started with our next session. The best part about the program is that he can participate in it until he turns three and it is free! It is an absolutely amazing resource that I am so thankful we found.

Bryton has such a sweet heart. He is so helpful with Cohen. The other day I came downstairs to find him putting on Cohen's shoes and then he went and got a tissue and wiped his nose...all without being asked! Makes this mama proud!

Messy but oh so much fun!
Cloud dough...flour and baby oil. We have had it out everyday and it is a definite hit!

Our church had a country carnival that was lots of fun. All the kids got to enter to win prizes and play lots of games. Bryton's favorite was the bouncy house. Cohen was in an off mood and didn't want to have anything to do with anything....fun times :)

We got a call the afternoon of the carnival to find out that Bryton won a BIKE! He was thrilled! Our sweet neighbors brought it home for him and it was waiting for him when he got up the next morning.

We spent a morning at the farmer's market and at the downtown park.

Bryton started a new session of gymnastics with his friend Macy.

Cohen took a spill at the park this week. They have rubber mats under the monkey bars and he wiped out when we were playing chase. The result...a nasty rubber burn on his eye. It is finally looking better. That same day, he fell off the couch and got a goose egg and the next day he busted his lip....the poor kid!

The Officers' Spouses' Club hosted a Mad Hatter Tea Party this morning.

Macy came over to play this afternoon and they had a blast.

I hope they always want to walk hand in hand and are the best of friends.
